On March 3, 1913, the day before President Woodrow Wilson’s first inauguration, local suffragists joined women from across the nation in a demonstration in Washington, DC. They represented the state by wearing hats like this one. The massive march included state delegations, bands, librarians, lawyers, nurses, and many other groups.
