UFW bumper sticker, c. 1960-75

Supporters could spread word of the grape boycott far and wide by affixing bumper stickers like this one to their cars. Design elements of this bumper sticker, including the Aztec eagle, came from the distinctive UFW flag. The skull seen in the grapes symbolized the dark situation of the farmworkers, and the color red stood for the hard work and sacrifice of union members.
